Each piece is made by hand in our small workshop in Lhasa, Tibet, and strung only after you order. Because no two are made exactly alike, the beads, tones and patina of yours will differ slightly from the photo — that variation is the mark of the hand that made it.

Best not. Yak bone and bodhi are natural materials: hot water and soap dry them out and can cause fine cracks, and water weakens the cord and dulls the metal. Take it off before you bathe, and if it gets splashed, pat it dry and let it air-dry.

Many wearers like to cleanse a new piece when it arrives, before wearing it for the first time. Smoke, sound, moonlight and raw rice are the four traditional methods — never salt or water, which can damage bone, turquoise and metal. See The Four Cleansings guide for how to do each.
