Some bracelets are strung. This one is wrapped — section by section, until every charm on it is held in place by thread. It is not a finished object so much as a small act of binding: courage, luck and a guardian's watch, tied around the wrist and kept there.
The Binding Thread (Hand-Braided Cord)
Across the Himalaya, a knotted cord tied at the wrist has long been one of the simplest forms of protection — traditionally believed to hold a blessing close to the body for as long as the thread lasts. This piece carries that idea into the craft itself. A tightly braided indigo cord forms the base; between each charm, it is wound by hand in deep blue thread and twisted blue-and-ember-orange strands, the ends teased loose into soft fringed tufts. No two wraps land exactly alike. Worn daily, the fringe softens and the colours mellow — the cord slowly takes on the shape of the life it travels with.
The Anatomy of the Binding
Every charm is cast in Li-ma copper — the traditional Tibetan name for the copper alloys prized in Himalayan statuary and ritual metalwork. Each wrapped section holds something worth keeping:
The Watchman (Citipati): The grinning Lord of the Charnel Ground, traditionally believed to stand guard exactly where fear lives. Met squarely, fear stops being frightening.
The Wager (Dice Charm): A small Li-ma copper dice swings free from the cord — a symbol of fate's turns, and of the nerve to play them.
The Blessing Within (Nyingchacha): Traditionally regarded as consecrated relics, these beads lend weight and blessing to the binding.
Light in the Thread (Glass Beads): Glass (liuli) is counted among the Seven Treasures of Buddhist tradition, associated with clarity. Red, green and marked black beads glow between the wraps.

Materials: Hand-braided and thread-wrapped blue cord; Li-ma copper Citipati, Nyingchacha and dice charm; glass beads.
Size: Adjustable sliding closure, fits 5–10 in / 13–26 cm.
Wear it: Alone, or stacked with wood and stone bracelets.

Note: Every cord is wrapped by hand, so the thread pattern and fringe vary from piece to piece. The Li-ma copper deepens and warms with handling, building a soft patina that is yours alone.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
- In the same condition that you received it
- Unworn or unused
- With tags
- In its original packaging
- Accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation)
